Disclaimer:  This is not Heidi writing and posting this time, instead this is Daniel, the loving husband hijacking her blog for Mother’s Day and throwing around some of my thoughts along with a photo session of her and her Jo Jo.  Addi, our oldest was too busy with her other social obligations (that every 6 year-old should have) so we had a little one on one time at the library.  Literature ensued.

Every once in a while a special woman comes along and makes life worth living.  She has charisma, talent, alluring looks, and power to make everyone around her better.  That woman is of course Natalie Portman, and since she is a new mother, I’d like to wish her a happy day.  I would also like to thank my wife and amazing mother of two beautiful children for allowing my sarcasm a place in our lives.  Heidi has already done a wonderful job of teaching the girls that you really can be whatever you choose even at an early age.  Addi and Joli are polite (mostly) and carry themselves with elegance and grace, while singing their way through each daily activity.

So for the princesses they are to become and the sweethearts they are now, thank you Heidi for all that you do.  Enjoy the pictures and have a wonderful day.

Love Daniel,

devoted husband and consummate professional.

I didn’t have to travel too far for this newborn session.

This sweet baby boy was about six days old and was already welcomed by his big sister.

I loved meeting this beautiful family and documenting their new little love.  I can’t wait to see them grow up over the years.

I LOVE my clients.  I get so fond of my clients and for some reason we all quickly become friends.  I love that so much.  I have had fun with all the sessions photographing their family in Denver and I was recently introduced to the newest addition.  Big sisters are the best and I know his sister is going to do a great job helping take care of him.  She wasn’t so sure about him, but I now know she has warmed up to him a lot.

This is my absolute favorite image I have ever taken.  I feel a connection to it as a mom with two children.  This was not staged.  It is real life.  Real life with children.  Real life that does not stop to pose.  Real life is hard, is beautiful, is fun and is just plain unexpected. My favorite photographs are ones that tell a story with just one click.  I am so grateful that my lovely client allowed me to put this image here.  I love this family as they are amazing clients (that have become friends) that have trusted me to take their images again and again.  That is the best compliment ever and has made it where because of that they allow me to capture images I love just as much as they do.
